The 1992 Hess 18 wheeler and racer

This truck had a production of 1,300,000 units and was originally retailed for $11.99 at participating locations. There are a number of firsts associated with this edition of the Hess toy truck. For example this is the first trailer which has windows on both sides of the truck located in the rear that allow you to see the race car inside. The racer is modeled after a Porsche
and a friction-powered race car but with lights. For the first time the race car is equipped with its own lights controls by a switch on the bottom. It uses two watch batteries that are type A76. This two was so popular that it was reported to have sold out at stations within the hours of the sale. Another first is this edition is the second consecutive year a truck was accompanied with a race car. The inside of the trailer now has lights that shine on the racer as well as the head and tail lights, running lights and famous Hess logo light up too.
The 1992 HESS 18 WHEELER AND RACER features a tractor trailer truck with loading ramp transporting a friction-powered race car, with several illuminated HESS logos. The race car is cleverly designed, utilizing a watch battery to operate the car lights.
