Hess made five trucks of its entire fleet of yearly collectible Hess trucks as piggy banks or gasoline bank trucks. The were are created in the 1980's nearly consecutively. This was a great idea, not sure why it didn't stick and become standard. At any rate all of the trucks had the coin slots located on the truck. To access or remove the coins one could simply turn the value or knob which was located on the rear of the vehicle. The banks trucks included two fire trucks, the original or First Hess truck, a tanker truck and a 18 wheeler.
