The words Hess are in large capital letters on the side of the truck and for the first time it has a unique dual sound siren with emergency flashers and working head and tail lights. The rims are red on the 1989 toy fire truck compared to 1986 edition. The coin slot and coin access are the same as the 1986 edition. This truck had a production of 1,000,000 units and was originally retailed for $8.99 at participating locations.
