The 2004 miniature Tanker Truck needs no introduction; it is a replica of the 1964 Iconic Hess Tanker Truck. This is the seventh edition in the Collectible Miniature Series and this marked a special occasion, the 40th Anniversary of the Hess Toy Truck. This toy features working head, tail and running lights, a fill port on the top of the tanker, and a removable hose. Interestingly this year’s model is attached to its display base through a little locking knob underneath, allowing easy on/off — the first time this mechanism has been used on the miniature series. The 2004 mini originally retailed for $5.99 and included an Energizer battery. There were 850,000 models produced in this seventh run in the series.
